Ok I have not bought a Monster tank since the 80's and back then it was a $1 a gallon. Does that still the going rate. And if not what is the average price of a fish tank 125 to a 200 gallon tank. I don't not want to get rip off.

I always keep an eye out for deals on used tanks to get that buck a gallon advantage. But, like everything else, prices have been spiraling up. Glass tanks are running $3 to $6 a gal. Acrylic tanks are running as high as $15 a gal. One of the least expensive places to get a new tank is glasscages.com. Check out their site for an idea of pricing.
BTW, plate glass has also gone up. I recently built a 135gal and the bottom plate, alone, was $127 for a 48x36" piece from a wholesaler.

Glasscages is the cheapest I have seen, a few people say they have had problems with their tanks but others like BeBlondie like the ones they have, Two nice sized tanks offered by them are the 125g (wide) 72"x24"x17" @ $260 and the 180 (wide) 72"x 24"x 25" @ $400

That's pretty cheap. In the uk it's loads more and prices vary massively, for instance I had to get a quote done at work for 84x24x22. The first company's quote ended up at £595 (over $1000) RRP!! the second company's quote ended up at about £350 ($600) RRP which is about the same as the trade price I got quoted from the first company!
So kids, always get more than one quote or they will pull your pants down!
