Well this is my first post.
I am looking at starting a new tank on the second floor. I currently own two 15 gal tanks with guppies, kuhli loaches, a couple of Platies, and a clown pleco. I also own a couple of betta tanks.
The new tank will be accompanying my silver betta's (Tuna's) tank in my room. Unfortunately I cant go much bigger than 15 gallons, 23 gallons is probably the largest due to weight.
I do live in a modern home though Japanese build quality is a joke. No home here would meet code in the States or Canada. My townhouse is the only home I have seen here with double pane glass.
I am leaning towards a 17 gal that is 2 feet by 1 foot by 16 inches tall.
As for a filter I am split between a canister and a over the top wet dry filter (http://thumbnail.image.rakuten.co.jp/@0_mall/aquadiscount/cabinet/00729696/img55756405.jpg)
I am leaning towards the canister as the wet dry trickling may be just too much noise for the bedroom. I was thinking the Tetra EX75 Euro (known as the Marineland C160 to everyone out of Asia). I was thinking of adding a smaller HOB in the future to run along side it.
I was headed for the Eheim 2215 but at 50$ more is it worth it? I want to have flow on the stronger side, but I don't need my plants swirling around.
Stocking
Any suggestions on stocking would be great. I would love convict(s) though I don't think even a single one would work. I want "Cleaner" fish where they can afford no water change for two weeks as I travel frequently. I would like a Cichilid or something similar as I do love Oscars but just don't have the space. Blue rams are also on my list though they seem small and less active than even a betta.
Thanks in advance!
