I got a 25gal tank I would like to start a small saltwater tank before I jump in to something big. I have been told it would be good to start with a coral tank and then add small fish later.

The tank I got was given to me and I have always ran freshwater tanks so I need to know if some of the setup I have will work.

First off, filter. It has a Penguin 125 Biowheel. Will that filter work for a while until I have enough for a canister?

Second, Lighting. Its currently using a T8 Colormax Corallife AF503. Weill this sustain Live rock life for a while or do I need to upgrade bulbs before adding the rock?

Right now the sand is the only thing in the tank while im setting the perfect salinity in the tank. I just dont want to rush into anything and end up killing something.

Oh and also, 78 degrees is a good temp for it right?
