Ok so I decided to start using dry fertilizer in my tanks. I went ahead and purchased the following:
Potassium Nitrate
Item# 12 , Shipping: US Shipping - Description: Potassium Nitrate 1 lb. KNO3 For shippment only in the USA and Canada.$3.00 USD1$3.00 USD
Barrs GH Booster
Item# 7 , Description: This is Tom Barrs Poor Mans GH Builder/Booster. Barrs GH Booster contains: Potassium Sulfate, Calcium Sulfate, Magnesium Sulfate. 1 lb.$5.00 USD1$5.00 USD
Mono Potassium Phosphate
Item# 10 , Description: Mono Potassium Phosphate 1 lb. MKP$6.00 USD1$6.00 USD
I plan on using the EI light method which is basically this (taken from Tom Barrs website)
60 80 Gallon Aquariums
+/- 3/4 tsp KN03 3x a week
+/- 3/16 tsp KH2P04 3x a week
+/- 1 tsp once a week (water change only)
+/- ¼ tsp (15ml) Trace 3x a week
50% weekly water change
Im planning on using nutrifin plant gro as my trace until my bottle runs out and then onto flourish.
Any glaring problems with this dosing schedule? Lights are 2x54w t5ho about 23 inches from the substrate (until my suspension kit comes in)
no co2 currently on the tank however I may run pressurized eventually.
