starting my first tank! need help with setup!

i know some of you will say that if i don't know I'm not ready.
but....
I'm starting my first fish tank its a 50G that I'm going too pick up this Thursday for $50!!! it even has a lid. I'm asked the person too fill it up be-for i get there in my last e-mail she hasn't replied but no worries she usually replies around 10PM.

i am buying an aqua clear 110 filter for it. does the aqua clear filter also make the bubbles for the fish?

is there anything elts i need too start the fish tank? (too keep fish alive) i know of some other things but what do you prefer? i don't want too cut corners with quality.
