Im starting a new 30 gallon tank. I'm wanting to get a Butterfly Pleco and maybe some African Cichlids. Im not sure as they will be my first predatory fish. I know its not a huge tank, but its what i have room for at the moment. Any suggestions as what i should use, gravel or sand? Or even better suggestions as to what I should put with the Butterfly?

Butterfly Pleco and African Cichlids is not really a good combo as plecos like ph around 7.0 and African Cichlids like it around 8.0. Also in my own experience I found butterfly plecos to be tender plecos, I'd be afraid of the African Cichlids bullying him and killing him
awesome, so ill leave out the cichlids from this tank. im wanting something interesting, but tthat will compliment my other tanks in the room. my angel tank, and tetra tank.
