yeah i'm to impatient to be neat lol, plus goin overboard somehow makes me feel like it won't leak, although it prolly will, ill trim them up nice n pretty after it cures
it'll b 1 of two for my 55g's, bichirs in one and way to many red devils in the other(temporary), devils are finally sold though, had 16 in 4 tanks now down to six. not sure what to get into now, ne ideas??
also starting 240g and sump for that hopefully tomarow, will post some pics as soon as i get through the other 2 sumps, not much to look at but i'm in project mode n couldnt wait lol

Simple trick to make the silicone neat.

I saw my kitchen fitters do it....

Just put electrical tape or masking tape either side of the joint line, splurge up the silicone and then remove the tape....hey presto clean, slim, line.

Hope this helps

Another simple trick to nice looking silicone :

Apply the bead of silicone to the clean and dry joint.
Spray the bead with water from an old Windex bottle or similar.
Finish the joint by spraying your hand with water and using the backside of your thumbnail
to smooth the joint and remove the excess.

The excess silicone won't stick to the wet areas of the panel or to your thumb.
Once you get the hang of it you will make a perfect joint every time.

I gaurantee, if you try this once you'll do it forever.

Don't worry about the silicone not being neat. Mine is ugly as hell.
It's a sump - not a show tank!
A job worth doing is worth doing well. :)

I enjoy compliments on the workmanship of my setup as much as ones about my fish.
