When you first start out your tank, what chemicals do you add?
i just wanna see what people use ...
everytime i start out a tank it seems like my everything goes down hill.

i just use the stuff that removes the chlorine and go with cheap fish until it cycles, then I add the oscar and let him eat the feeders hehe.

dechlorinator, and somthing to boost bacterian, NOTHING else, some salt when i first get the fish

About a month before I set up a new tank, I like to throw a couple extra sponge filters in my established tanks. Then when the tank is set up, add some established water, the filters which now have bacteria in them, and a couple cycle fish. I leave just those fish in there for a while, keep a close eye on the tank, and then when things are running smooth for a while I add some more fish.

If I don't have access to an established tank, I'd just add biospira or some other bacteria and some cheap fish until it cycles.
