Hey Everyone,
After a year after the passing of my beloved Bichir I stopped fish keeping. Now I want to start fish keeping again and thinking about getting a Dat. I say some Tiger Dats at my lfs for $30 each about 2". How big do the Tiger Dats get and what size tank should I get for 3 or 2 Dats and when they get full grown.

Zhuo.

It's good to get 1 or 3 or more. 2 will bicker too much with each other. 18" wide tank minimum and you should be good. Get another bichir in there too:D.

Yes. Grow very slow after 7 inch+, lucky to have 1/yr after that size.
But, tigers can grow reasonably quick up to the 7 inch mark. I 've had 2 inch indos grow to 6/7 inch in 12 months. All depends on filtration, tank size and feeding.
Ntt, ngt and silver: all grow lot slower though.
Widebar grow similar speed to indo I think, but can't speak from experience, as never owned widebar.

How long would a 75g tank last for 3 tiger dats that are about 1" each. Or should I keep them in a 20g then upgrade to the 75g tank.

It's a bit overpriced, but not completely unreasonable. Of course that may be a good deal in Canada depending where you live. As a US citizen my views may not be accurate for you.

I paid $30 a piece for 3 ITs that were about 2" long almost a month ago now.

I live in Toronto, Its like the only lfs I know that sells dats they got a lot of them too. Will it be okay if I have add in a 3" endlicheri with 1" Dats or is it too risky?
