Does anyone have any tips? Is mixing species ok?
I have 3 hissers right now, but tomorrow was going to order 100 dubias or lobsters, and like 6 death heads. Am I going to have to keep them seperate?

I would just do dubia most nutritional easier to keep and not as fast or jumpy and won't get lose.

it is for a giant plated lizard, 4 bullfrogs, a tokay, and a tarantula.
I think i'll go with dubai though. but I already have a trio of hissers.

you could sell the hissers or keep them for the heck of it or trade for a trio of dubai at a reptile show. When you going to start your colony?

Im ordering roaches tonight. I was thinking of trying the large blaberus hybrids instead. They get MUCH bigger, which is a plus, and supposedly work pretty much like the dubai.
Anyone have experience with them?

Go with Blaptica Dubia, I've got both Dubia and Blaberus (Deaths Heads), and the Dubia work far better.

It'll take a while to get established, but just throw them dry food (I use a mix of weetabix, fishfood, dog biscuits) and water crystals, and leave them alone for a few weeks.

At first I tried to keep them clean and well fed, and they didn't breed for ages. I've now buggered off to uni, and only go home every 2 weeks or so which is when I put new food and water in, and they're thriving off the neglect.

Definitely go with the dubias. They don't stink, fly, climb glass and they don't suvive for long if they escape.
cuz if they escape your wife steps on them right:lipsseale
