Here is the basic plan for a triple tank stand for 2 90s and a 55.
2x4 build
Approximately 8' wide by 24" deep with enough room for 2" plumbing behind the upper shelf.
2 distinct frames for the lower portion.
I want to sit 2 90 gallon tanks next to each other (48x18x24) then place one 55 under one of the 90s( 48x13x19). Next to it under the other 90 will be the canisters for the 2 tanks and some room for storage. ie buckets and filter stuff.
Like this.
Anyone have any good ideas as to what program to sketch up some plans? I want to be able to eventually swap the glass 90 below, ditch the acrylic/glass 90 and upgrade to a 6-9' by 24 inch tank in time, but at least this way I can use what I have now and have a better safer set up than I have. I don't like the current cinderblock/2x6 setup as there is too much flex under the unsupported 2x6's.
Also, the glass/acrylic tank. It has a sheet of glass on the bottom, then acrylic for the sided and integrated bracing. Should I place foam under it? Or just make sure it is supported on the sides/edges?
