ok so i got all the honey dos out of the way except blowing insulation in the attic next on the list buffing the acrylic on my tank once that is don i will be picking up a 125 gal tank mid february for refugium\ sump building the stand and cycling the tank hopefully first to middle of march i will be stocking the beast anyway it will be a midas, jag, and a marmorata pike thats it for cichlids other inhabitants will be a large school of giant danios a school of 6-8 silver dollars and either 1 decent sized catfish or a small shoal of pictus what does everyone think feasible?

started the sanding on the tank the other night 3 hrs in and i have half of the inside of the tank done with the first coat i cant believe how much this sucks i was told the first coat would take up to 70% of the total time involved in the project man i hope so im sure the outside of the tank will be easier since i wont be layin on my side inside the tank pics of the progress will be comin in a day or two well back to work

Awesome bro!! I know how stoked you are about gettin this set up!! Be sure to get all young fish!! Right now that might be a little bit of a problem since Rapps has subadults, but as long as you get all the fish around the same size, it should work out. Crenicichla lenticulata would probably be easier, but Rapps does have a GORGEOUS female marm. right now that would make an amazing show fish.

Definately establish your danio school first, as they will quickly get picked off and eaten before you know whats hit you! Those elastic stomachs are a pain in the butt to keep full!! haha. Have you thought about Spanner Barbs? They aren't commonly seen any more, but they do get large, up to 7", and are rather attractive...just a thought. Heres a link to a couple of pictures of them...;)

the barbs are interesting any idea on what they typically go for im not real worried about the danios getting picked off theyre cheap enough and i always liked them i just hope the silver dollars can manage to avoid a painful death i did manage to get the first grade of sanding done inside and out the tank went from having scratches to looking like frosted glass its a little gut wrenching to look at it like that pics on monday b4 i go to the next grade wish me luck

Man I dream of a 300G ..... Just know that your living our DREAM!

Cant wait till its up and you get pics.

Keep buffin.

I've been lookin for some of the spanner barbs myself on some other sites, and someone told me they go for $.67 at PetSmart...so i think they would be a better deal than giant danios..much better.

that is cheap when you said hard to come by i heard expensive
