Starvation day leads to death

I was doing my normal day without food for one of my tanks and decided not to feed them til I got home from work. When I got home that night about 11pm one of my clown barbs was bitten in half with eyes missing too. Don't know whether the RD or the Jag got to him. Atleast it was just one of the dithers and not one of the smaller cichlids.

Could this be a sign I am under feeding?

Imo dithers in an aggressive cichlid tank might as well be called feeders its just a matter of time

yes and no. Yes cause if they hungry they go after whatever. No cause like gomez said, the dither were feeders sooner or later.
