Starving flowerhorn

I've read on a number of posts that some people will not feed their flowerhorn for one day during the week. Wondering what benefit is this and how many flowerhorn owners do it. Please weigh in if you have an opinion.

Fasting for one day weekly allows the fish's digestive system to clear out, preventing constipation.

I feed mine 3x a day. Every day. Going on ten years.

I think it depends on what food you feeding your fish with. If it is a good balance food and your not overfeeding the fish, i dont personally think it is needed .
But then on the other side it wont kill the fish to do so neither.
But i find it hard not to feed him specially when u see that lil poor soul looking at you all hungry.

My big guy will splash water out of the tank if ignored. Step two is attack the filter pipes and the heater and then look again for food.
