I live in the dorms and the nearest LFS is about 45 min away and they are Petsmart/co and i go there once or twice a week just to look and occasionally get a fish. Well....i have been going since school started in august and petco has a pacu in an "adoption" tank, this tank is an unheated ~25-35gal tank and the pacu has been in there since before i started going there. This poor guy is so skinny that he is literally skin and bones and looks like he hasnt eaten in years. It is horrible. I finally said something today to one of the really nice guys that works there and he told me to come in or call tomorrow to talk to the guy who actually works the fish there....i know it prob wont get me anywhere but im going to tell the guy that it has been starving for MONTHS and needs food.
I am going to suggest some things for it to eat.

What are some cheap things that a 6" RBPacu needs to eat? I say cheap b/c the guy prob doesnt care and it needs to be very easy for them to do as not to cause any inconvienance.

Thanks

p.s. sorry for the long story but i think it is all somewhat relevant.

You need to bring it up with a manager.
They are just being stupid if they aren't feeding it..that includes anyone that works there. Stores like that have "store use" designated food and typically have lots of it. It will eat flakes, pellets, frozen...anything they feed to the fish they have in stock. Its a fish store, they can properly feed it.

I think the guy that im gonna talk to tomorrow is a manager but the one that is normally there is a dumb B**** that knows nothing about anything... She told me that my Ph of ~7 killed a molly that i bought a day before.
She couldn't open the liquid test kit b/c it had a child proof cap on it and she used the strip kit to test the water b/c "the strips are more accurate for me"

GAHHH she makes me mad...

it can eat zucchini, cucumber, small uncooked carrot pieces.. and pellets and algae wafers... and tell the manager... i wish you luck....:(

btw what petco is this? maybe someone close by can take the fish in and maybe help it. as for the store well basicly call the fish dead. unless he's going ok now he's not going to get any better. they most likely won't do anything else to help it. but as they said talk to the manager. tell him/her the problem and if they won't listen ask for there manager's name and number. keep going up untill someone will listen and help it. but it's a matter of time before it dies before it gets help unless someone here saves it

it just needs some TLC.
actually i think all it needs is a heated tank and food...
oh yea and a filter

Most likely free too, as fish like that at in random tanks usually are.

But...you don't need anything special to recommend. If it really hasn't been eating then anything such as flakes will help...and they have to have food there to feed the stock for sale.
