Before draining your tank, please turn the heater off for half an hour to cool down in the water.

I was in a rush and forgot all about it. And turned my heater off when i started draining my tank.

So this happend.

I dont know if it still works...

But if this was a glass heater, i would of gotten glass all over the tank...that would suck to get out of the sand.

the glass heaters wouldnt break at those temps, but it could burn you

I have mine set at 85. And ive had alot of glass heaters crack on me.

I would get a replacement heater as soon as possible. I wouldn't try to see if it works since you risk losing all of your fish.

Heaters are finicky.... If one is even just a tiny bit questionable, HELLO TRASH CAN! Yes, they are expensive, but I would not want to risk it.

But, Problem Solved... summer is here, with temperature hardy fish - no heaters

my stealth 250w heater has 1 bump on it. I dunnbo why but here until lately my tank has been fine.

i have a problem now though. temp reading 86 degrees F, no heater in tank, took put the power head. Now just decor, fluval, and no lights. Still 86ish. i dont understand it. But the fish seem fine. Neways, TFP has them for like less than so try them.
