Stealth Heater almost killed my fish!

Stealth Heater are junk.....I had a 250w with my large datnoids and I couldnt figure out...that when I put my hand in the tank....... with a few cuts on my fingers...it would burn and sting the cuts......I thought it was bad water quality...so I took out my sand....cleaned the filters.... and still no change. I thought it was due to the ph....but little did I know that the stealth heater was producing an electric current in Datnoid tank. I figured this out...that when I put aluminum foil on the top of the tank..it sparked. I would never recommend a stealt heater to anyone!!!!!!! Luckily I caught it on time!!!! Just letting monsterfishkeepers know and to watch out!

yup.. stealth heaters are not the best ones out there.. they are prone to be defective ... lots a lot reports where Stealth heaters accidentally turns tank into fish soup..

Best ones are rena smart heaters..
 
I know I couldnt figure out why my datnoids were black...when they were always stable..all 5 of them! I had two heaters in the tank...lucky for that!
 
Thankyou...... I will have to get one of those heaters...... I will never buy a stealth heater again. All the fish were acting funny and know I know why!
 
Yeah I know...the 7'' NGT....11'' Indo...9-10'' indo.....8'' NTT and 6'' NTT..... were all black. I also have a black aro and 12'' fei feng...in with them...... I would of lost some nice fish. I am so glad that they are all doing much better and the colors are comming back!!
 
yeah, I have two Stealth heaters that I've never even taken out of the package; unfortunately, I bought 'em before I realized how common the problems are with these heaters . . . I've had enough of 'em, I'll never buy 'em again . . .
