Steam- PC gaming

just wondering if any MFKers have Steam
Im getting a laptop for christmas so i figured I would try PC gaming

It works fine, and it's convenient. I just hate the idea of not being able to sell/trade/lend games. But I guess that's the future of electronic distribution for games. You don't actually buy a game, you just buy a license to play the game.

Its a great platform for online gaming, but as said above, it limits selling/gifting the game once you've already played it. Some people also claim that it slows down their computer, but I've never noticed a loss of performance on mine when playing through it.

If you get Steam on your computer, there's lots of great games to play on it. There's also lots of sales so you can get cool games for 50-90% off.

My favorite Steam games so far:

Half-life 2
Counterstrike: Source
Left for Dead 2

I also just downloaded a Star Wars game to try out. PM me if you end up getting it and I'll send you my Steam ID (forum won't let me post it here ).

You can still purchase a hard-copy game outside of Steam, but play it through the Steam platform. But it is easier (and cheaper) to buy through Steam...

Its great, no more CD's to scratch, lose, etc.

They have sales every now and then were you can get games cheap.

I bought dozens of games on impulse just because they're so cheap
