Would this work if I welded 3 peices of 1/2 inch or 1/4 inch steel about 8 feet long and about 3 feet high. Then for the sides 3 foot wide and 3 feet high. Line the metal with pool liner or that stuff they use on those backyard ponds. Then cut a window into one of the 8 foot sections of steel and put a peice of plexi glass?

Yes, use thick enough plexy (should be cellcast acrylic) and a frame to seal it with.

Someone else is doing just this on here some where...search in here a little.

Dr Joe

Don't forget to add welded lifting rings to each corner so that the crane has something to get a hold of when you move it...LOL. Other than that...sounds great...post some pics of the project.

Wolf3101 I deadlift 505 and I am only a junior in highschool. If I can't lift the beast my buddies from the football team can help me.

make sure you get a pic of youor the football team lifitng that tank. If you are truly usig steel it will weigh a ton empty.

<---waiting patiantly on the pictures....

Construction will probaly take place in March when ice fishing is over. If the tank is over 1000 pounds then I will put it in my garage instead of my room.:(

The water itself will weight more than that.

Have you thought about plywood?
