My stein just released most of the fry, about 20. I want as many as possible to survive. They're in a 15 gallon right now and I'm feeding them crushed flakes so what do you guys think? By the way they're about the size of a grain of rice

If I were you I'd start a brine shrimp hatchery and start pumping them out and feed in addition to the flake. Live food makes for better growth, in my opinion, and also doesn't foul up the water as quickly as uneaten flake left in the tank.

Also, petsmart sells Top Fin hatchery nets for like 6 bucks that hang on the side of the tank. When the fry are as small as you say yours are, I find this net handy for feeding and cleaning. Keeps the fry in a more confined space while getting all the benefits of the 15 gallon body of water. Even better than the top fin net, Marina (hagen) makes these plastic hang-on-back tanks that use an air pump to siphon water providing flow through the breeder box and keeping the fry separate from your main tank or grow-out. I paid 25 for it at a regularly overpriced lfs, and they do make smaller models than the 3-chamber I have below.

Best of luck with your project!

You can buy either "pre-mix" packets which are cheaper up front but MUCH more expensive over the long run, or you can buy a jar/vial of eggs. There's videos all over youtube and instructions all over the web for how to hatch these things.

All you need is a large bottle/mason jar, an air pump, and a light. I suppose the light isnt necessary, but I find my hatch rates are much better with a light than not.

Sup boys...this ajtennis kid doesnt own any fish, in fact he steals them from koi ponds and then feeds them to his dogs....he once stole a fishtank from a nursing home...dont trust him!

She finally let them go!! I have 22 little fry now swimming about in my 15gal, about a centimeter long. How can I speed up their growth and should I take the female out and put her with the male? She looks pregnant again.
