Stellar Sea Lions

Last month I took my family over to Olympia, and decided to go see the Oregon Zoo. Primarily to see the Stellar Sea Lions. Here is a picture of one of the Stellar Sea Lions. They are huge. I'll update later with some of the other pictures.

Oh yeah, this big boy stood on his front flippers at well over 5' 6", and towered over the keeper, and this is just from head to the flippers. When they were swimming like pictured, they were probably 10' long!!

Where is their most common habitat?

The Arctic circle. Basically everything up north.

What an incredible experience.

The incredible part was when the keepers came to feed them. I'll post a vid of that later. The two of them jumped out of the water and could tower over the keepers when they stood up, and the keepers were about 5'10" they look little, but aren't!

keepers must have been reasonably short then lol. just googled them, looks cool. wonder how much fish they get through, a lot i would have thought

Nope they stood about 5'10", I saw them face to face after they left the enclosure, and they were taller than I am.
