Can someone recommend a seller of Stendker quality discus? I hear Discus Hans breeds the best Stendkers. But I hear he only sells wholesale with minimum purchase of 60 discus! I found his NY distributors Fishtown USA in Flushing NY - very expensive. I was hoping to start out with Stendker quality discus. I am a discus newbie - I was in awe with somethingsphishy with the variety/pics & great pricing & was all ready to order a ton of discus juvies but...

Now I want Stendkers. Heard Hans has the best quality & award winning discus breeding. :)

stendkers, aren't they german breed discus? I don't care if they or not just curious.
asking a question.

Hi there... While MFK is a great forum with lots of helpful folks... I know I am repeating myself from another of your posts but... go to the forum simplydiscus and check out their sponsors/breeders etc... there are some near you and the forum is one that every discus keeper should be aware of.. tons of info from experienced discus folks many of whom are also MFK members... Good luck.. Sue:D

Stendker quailty is world famous. As far as I know, Hans is the sole importer of Stendkers, and yes, he sells wholesale. If you go to the Discus Hans website, Hans lists retailers for his fish throughout the US, that way you can find the closest one to you.

Interesting. I'll have to check on that. I knew he was selling some fish to help Cory, who had a stoke, but I didn't know he was doing regular retail sales now. To me that's a great thing, because I don't like buying fish from LFS regardless of where they came from. You never know for sure what the fish have been exposed to in such places.

Hans is an importer/distributor only, no breeding. Stendker does produce some nice fish, especially the adults.

From my exp. most wholesalers who deal in any type of "spendy" fish will usually sell sm. quanities if you ask. The price is usually slightly higher and the shipping isn't any cheaper but if you've got the money you can usually get the honey :grinno:
