Sterbai are very active?

I recently added 5 sterbai corys to a 40 gal. tank with 5 yellow labs. I have several types of cory cats (in other tanks), but these are my first sterbai.

The sterbais seem very active. They swim near the top of the water all day. All of my other corys stay on the bottom of their tanks, making brief trips to the top. Does anyone have experience with sterbai cats that would explain this behavior?

I got a few sterbai's last week, I was also amazed at how active they are. I expected them to be bottom dwellers but they get everywhere! I have mine in a community tank and they really are a joy to watch!

I've got no idea why they are so active, at first I thought it was just cos of new environment for them, but 8-9 days later and there still active as ever

Corys will be seriously hurt or killed in a tank with mbunas.
