Hi all! I just want to ask for advice on how to effectively sterilize live feeder fish, don't know if freezing them (dead) is 100% safe.
I currently keep my feeders in the q tank which has a little salt in it. I don't know how long I should keep them in quarantine .
I'd love to know how you guys do it, thanks!:)

well, after quarantine, I would still be concerned about the antibiotics, copper, and whatever else they were exposed to. that will be in there tissues and hence transfer to the rays. IMO, not worth it, I know my feeders live in copper treated water to prevent parasites, as far as I know copper is bad for our cartilaginous friends.

as far as disease goes, I guess a month of quarantine should be fine.

If you have them frozen, that will clean them up a lot. Keep them frozen at least a week.
if you decide to treat them with anything, make sure you have them out of the medication long enough that you aren't passing it onto your rays.

OK, I guess I'll stick to feeding them frozen fish! Thanks for your advice!
