Like the title states, I am trying to sterilize some natural rock I picked up from my parents house. Will boiling it in a pot be enough to kill any harmful organisms on the rock and how long should I boil them?

I soak my rocks in diluted bleach/water solution for a few days, then rinse well and soak for a few more days in water/Prime solution to neutralize any bleach residue. Do this with all my aquarium equipments too

Can I ask what kind of ratio do you use for bleach to water? A teaspoon per gallon?

I usually fill a bucket with boiling water, let it sit until it cools, and then refill the bucket with more boiling water two or three times. I haven't ever had any issues with either rock or driftwood doing it this way.

I just pressure-wash. Not sure what you're trying to kill ?!

I'm not a microbiologist, so I have no idea what I'm trying to kill with the bleach. All I know is there are definitely living microorganism on those rocks and whether or not they are harmful to my fish or detrimental to the tank I have no clue. Just being a little extra cautious
