Sterilizing wild collected algae and plants

I have alum and potassium permgeratte (spellings wrong) on hand

2 or 3 weeks ago collected some pebbles and plants and was wondering what recipes will allow me to sterilize the the plants/pebbles without destroying the algae before i put it in the tank.

I want mats of algae to be growing on branches making it look more natural hence me putting some of the pebbles in the tank to get alage introduced . Any feedbacks?

Both Alum and permanganate are great plant dips.
With alum I use 1 tablespoon per gallon, soak at least an hour.
Snail eggs may need more time.
If using permanganate, add enough to turn water pink, and dip plants.
If using to kill snail eggs 15 to 20 minutes may be needed.
Both can also kill algae.
