Would a sterlet be ok in a 127gallon round kiddie pool?:D
5' diameter.
1.5' deep.

For a little while. Got a chiller? They like cold water.

Thats set up will be OK for a while. They like cooler water with extra 02. They also need lots of food when young, so be prepared

Ok. =) Wha do they at? How cold should it be? IS so-cal out doors fine?
Do these guys jump?

No they need colder than outdoor socal. I believe they like it in the mid 50s or so. I don't really think that is going to be very suitable for more than a year anyways. That volume of water is not going to support it for very long. You are deffinatly going to need a chiller though.

I doubt it. maybe in the summer, but they need cold winter weather, too. they get to be 4' long, so look into a 8' square pond when he grows up.

Oh...so..Is there anything that could live out there? Bowfin?

Bowfin would do pretty good out there I think. The tank might get a little small for him when he/she (female grow much larger) get to adult size, but that won't be for probably atleast 3 years. A male would be alright in there for all its life. Female might be alright in there just kind of depends and I think you are smart enough to judge when it is getting tight for it. I would deffinatly do a bowfin though. I love mine.

Ok. =)
Would it work with a RES?
The res doesn't eat fish. She wont.
Where can I get a bowfin?

Bowfin are illegal in California. Just a heads up.
