Sterlet?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Not much chance. They didn't evolve to handle long-term tropical temps. They prefer 50-65F but, can take higher temps if the aeration is increased. How high the temp can go and how long it can be withstood depends on too many factors. Keep them shaded and heavily aerated. Then, hope for the best.

As stated, high water flow along with increased aeration. Just be sure to provide current breaks where the sterlet can get rest periods away from the current stream.

Thanks guys! I guess powerheads would do the trick.

Also, current as in GATF level? Hes in a tank where my smaller tigers used to go so there are a bunch of powerheads in there.
I should go look for a chiller then and move/build an indoor tank. If ever i get my hands on another sturgeon species i might consider making another 2k for temp fishies.

Taimen, paddle fish etc... Oh to be addicted to fish lol
