so i found a stickleback in with my minnows yesterday, and since i was feeding the minnows to my big fish i was buy my small tank so i put it in...whats the best diet for them? will they take pellets/flake at some point...do they eat like darters? as i have 2 darters in that tank now...thanx
i put some live black worms in the same day, but i didn't see it eat and today it spit out the flake i put in for some other fish...the lfs by me stopped ordering bloodworms for some reason do you think it would eat krill?
I now have 6 in a little convict growout tank that came in with my minnows from time to time.
Mine eat flake foods. But i have had them starve to death before converting to the flake. It works alot better if you have a fish in the same level as them in the tank eating the flake. A teacher fish.
If they will not except dead foods and you want to keep them alive get some small fry and feed them to the sticles. They love fry from all fish. They are a wicked little predator.
But since it is mouthing the flake it is only a matter of time before it eats it.
