Sure have

However i never had them breed, i had to keep topping them up every spring. If i am not mistaken they only breed in strong flowing water. Great little fish though. And free

I have kept them in a tank, they are mean. Problem with keeping them in a pond is that they just look like minnows.

My mate had to pull one out of the mouth of a small koi last week. The stikle back was dead and the koi would have gone the same way if it wasnt removed, he said the spines made a horrible noise scraping the top of the koi's mouth
