Sticky Lifter

i have a 97' chevy silverado with a sticky lifter. its been sticking for about 4 months now and so far i have used 2 different types of oil additives and even substituted a quart of oil for automatic transmittion fluid and it's still sticking. anyone with ideas?

what size engine does it have? how long have you had it? how many miles?

it is a 5.7 liter 350cc V8. 150,000 miles. i had it for 3.5 years and put 70,000 miles on it.

Sounds like that lifter is either collapsed..or you may have a cam lobe that has gone round...(chevy seems to get those every once in a while..still like em though!)
May be time to open the top end up!
