That's very exciting. That's a fish I only discovered recently on an import list from Germany. There isn't a whole lot of information on it. How big is the male and females and what's the temperament?

size of about 13-14 cm male, the female a little less
Usually is not aggressive with other species but with his kind is more aggressive
While breeding is more aggressive but that's normal

Gverde, What hap odd ball dont you have lol. I would say male, however I just don't see a lot out there that would make me say with any confidence

Robulus153, I do like to collect a lot of different predator hap types. A breeder had a few of these so I had to get one since I have never seen them before. I also have a 8" male Stigmatochromis sp. "spilostichus type" that is very similar. I hope the pleurospilus is a male but I'm thinking he should be coloring up by now. He or she does have a lot of eggs spots though.

The Stigmatochromis is pretty rare. Looking at some pictures makes me want to learn more about them.

I think this is a female, the male has a lot of yellow spots on the upper fin

Great looking fish. That seems like a lot of color for a female. I bet that is a sub-dominant male
