Ok, he's sorta lost interest in getting one, since he got a piranha, he's content for now. lol

But, I still want a marbled lung. I found a listing at www.thatpetplace.com but, they were out of stock, www.aquabid.com doesn't have any marbles.

There aren't any listed here that I've found...:(

Does anybody know where I can hunt one down at? I want a juvenile, as small as I can get it ^^

I have a 75 gallon available, if I get a small one, how much water do I fill it with? What kind of lid do I use? And how much time do I have to build the acrylic 6'x4' tank, before he HAS to move into it?

I greatly appreciate any help, and with Christmas coming, I'm trying to see if Santa Clause can bring me one, since I've been extra good this year!! lol

EDIT:
I never did find out what would happen if it got out...how long can they be out of water? and how far will it go? and will it hurt my cats and dogs?

If it's an African species (Protopterus sp.) it should be fine out of water if it is moist. It should not curt your dogs or cat as they do not naturally hunt out of water. The African species can estivate for periods of serveral years. Here's a post on water wolves that I came across. http://forums.****************/index.php?showtopic=108578&st=0

Druu, PM me that link, since it won't post on the main forums....Thanks!

Ok, so after a lengthy debate with myself, between a FW ray and a Lung, I've decided to go ahead with the lung.

We always have somebody's kids visiting, and if they got into one of my tanks, I'd rather them be bitten, and maybe break their hand, than to be stung, and run the risk of them dying.

Would solid acrylic (with areas remoced for HOB filters) work as a lid? and I was going to put locks/latches on the lids (we're going with double hinged lids) [_|_]

Are there any other safety precautions I should follow through?
