I have a 4.5 in JD with a 3.5 in oscar, 3 silver dollars, lima cat, 3 in salvini and a smaller sal in a 4x2x22 in tank (110 gal). my JD attacks every fish in the tank but the cat for about 5 mins (give or take some min) when I first got it so i separated it from the rest. I was wonder was I just being just overly cautious because is he just be trying to show that he/she is the boss? It has been a month and I just asked this question now because the divider looks ugly in tank.
Also what size should I expect my sal to show some aggression because heard they can be quit mean assuming mine isnt mellow.

Well it's a good thing for seperation. I say once your Oscar gets some size the JD will back down a notch unless your oscar is a push over. If the attacks are relentless then I say keep them apart for good. Oh and my experience with salvini's are that they aren't aggressive more like peacekeepers but if they aren't the boss of the tank they will do anything and everything to KILL and become dominant. They will start this behavior at 3.5 to 4" and it won't stop from then on.
