now i have been around black rays for 20 years +

and got a email from this guy stinginthebutt saying there is no such thing as pure blood black rays now i was just wondering other people opinion on this

a bdxleo is not a hybrid in my eyes its just a mix of a higher grade leo with a lower grade leo

i know hes talking rubbish and my p14 were bred from wild caught parant which i purchased over 8 years ago so know they are pure blood

i could breed pure blood p14 all day long but the bad thing is thats not what the market is demanding people want flash looking hybrids

i feel this will be a commen thought from newbies like stingintherbutt after buying rays thinking they were leos from singapore

even will people selling what they say are bdxleo to boost the price as if something is just given the tag leo people are not as intrested as if it has the bdxleo tag

if we have got to a stage now when newbies like stinginthebutt come into the hobby thinking that you cant get a pure blood black ray what will the market be like in a few years
 
Hybrid is typically say leoxmoto. I know this is correct.

But is Pure blood (Leo breed with Leo = leo pup.. ) what I'm saying is : what if a Leo male breeds with leo female from same family (brother and sister), does that mean the off spring is not pure blood.

Hen x Hen = Hen.

Mutt (sorry, "Hybrid")
Leo x Hen = Mutt
Leo x Motoro = Mutt
a x b = Mutt
b x c = Mutt
etc
 
still plenty of pure blood black rays around,wild and being captive bred.

I agree I also dont see a bdxleo as a hybrid,just differn't leo to a classic in my eyes.

ANY SO CALLED PURE BLACK RAYS ARE JUST POSSIBLE PURE ! EVEN IF YA HAD W/C FROM YEARS AGO YOU COULD NEVER PROVE THEY ARE PURE
THIS GOES FOR ANY SP. THAT HAVE OVERLAPPING AREAS THEY POPULATE AND ITS JUST CALLED MOTHER NATURE!!!

BD is a pet trade name given to a specific spot pattern on a leopoldi. There are LOADS of pure leos and pure hens out there. I used to breed both (pure) and the offspring are still around. And by "PURE" I mean genetically proven... and yes we had the ability and funds to do that.
 
i feel sorry for the hard-working, unpaid mods that try to keep the forum clean of this crap.
i honestly don't know who is the real culprit and the real victim in this scenario, but it has gotten out of hand. it's one thing to debate about whether pure blood BD's exist, vs turning it into an all out war with supposed death threats.

in the end, one side will be right, one will be wrong. as with all arguments.

of course pure blood BD's still exist. end of story, move onto something else.
