Stingray and jar aros compatible?

I currently have a 7 in. Jar and a 4 in. retic in a 125 grow tank.
I know of Jar's agression with age, but I hear that people have some luck with bottom feeders.....

Anyone successfully kept both together in the long run?

its a gamble.... jars get really nasty ive seen a jar kill a tig and a stingray and heard more horror stories than success stories... lei aro be a better choice..

Also can you give me input on common plecos, and rays.
Ive heard mixed things about both......
Reason I ask is I have a 7inch. pleco growing fast in a 55g.

In the 125 I have a fine, smooth gravel substrate, LARGE 1.5' piece of driftwood (still floating!), a 36" artificial floating bamboo plant, and a med sized powerhead to push debris and couple ping pong balls to keep the aro occupied.

well your tank(in general)and with that piece of drift wood doesnt have a good footprint for rays.... common pleco is a no go... lei aros tend to be more peacefull ive never heard of a problem with them and rays... what kind of rays you looking to get?

Right now I got a 4-5 in. disc retic. I'm thinking of making a custom 6x2.5x2.5 tank. Give or take somewhat on the dimentions.

Nic, I know a 18x72 base is no where near big enough for a adult ray, but you think it is too small for a 4-5 incher? If so what do you recommend?

I plan on a custom tank in the near future (less than a yr), should I just get it done asap?

well let them grow together... the pleco i would ditch... you might get lucky and your aro wont care and kill your ray... there is only one way to find out sadly
