Ive owned a male marble ray for just over a year now and recently bought 2 female rays to keep with him. Ive now been offered a mature female marble and was hoping i could introduce her to breed with my male but need some advice first.

1. Can females be introduced after having pups with a different male and still breed with the new male?
2. I currently have 2 females and 1 male, will having a 3:1 ratio cause any problems?

Might seem like daft questions to some but id rather check first before buying and then running into problems.

Have you heard of any reason why a mature will not mate with a male. I never heard of that. It would be new to me

Thanks, i kept oscars and jacks in the past and know once they paired up that was their partner for life. Just didnt know if stingrays were as fussy

You'll be fine. Its good that that female already had pups so you know that she is mature. With females its hard to tell for sure. 3:1 ratio isnt bad but if there are 2 or more males it entices them to breed. I have a mature male marble and 2 females. One is mature and one isnt. He shows 0 interest in breeding with either.

I had a jack breed with a jack and then bred with a Texas. Some are more loyal than others

Shouldn't be a problem as the others said. Really nice rays you got especially the black but then again I am biased toward black rays lol.
Got to ask though, how big is your tank? It looks a little small width ways in the 1st picture.. Probably fine but the wider the better if your intention is to breed.
