Stingray Breeding

I was just wondering about the breeding of stingrays, if those who are breeding use sand in the tanks. Would this help on reducing the aggression of the males on the females? Also what size do the rays start breeding and how many pups do they produce at a time?

I use sand in my tank. I don't think the use of sand will affect the aggression of the males though. My female motoro is about 11", and the males are 8" and 8.5". Not sure how many pups she has, will know soon.

I think the pups usaly range from lik 1-8 but breeding is usally by 12" but yes it can be smaller

How many times a year do the rays breed? I read that they breed twice a year, at best. Mainly at the beginning of the dry season. How often do they breed in the aquarium?

mikes rays H2Ocustomaquatics rays are breeding right after pups are born... once they start they usually dont stop......... amount of pups depends on size of female
