it works for a while, until the motoro gets huge and eats or drowns the discus (i know drowning a fish! crazy stuff) its more of suffocating i guess

x2, definitely a risk. As a general rule of thumb, don't keep anything that stays smaller than your rays. Rays are top predators in the wild for a reason. If you need an illustration of this and have access to clean feeder crayfish, try tossing a few in and see what happens.
 
like above as long as the rays are smaller will be fine with the sevs - not sure about discus - never kept them with rays before.

the motoros are feeding on mussels only but each day they are becoming more and more inquisitive with my hikari sinking pellets i feed my severums
 
I had a pair of 5-6" severums with motoros a few years ago. No problems.
