stingray disc healing

Hi all,

Just wanna ask if a ray's disc which has been bitten by another ray will heal completely and give the ray a round shape again or will the disc never be completely round again? Thanks

It will be round again When chewed on(on top of disc), you will most likely get another pathern when it heals. I have had a motoro female pretty badly chewed on top of her disc, she healed nicely. But where there normaly was 1 big spot, there came many small once insted.

Ok thats great news will let it heal completely befpre transferring it out of the hospital haha. Oh yea i have had rays that healed from minor bites and the pattern became kinda like some smudgy spot. At least ur spot multiplied hahaha

It will depend on how much is bitten off. If large chunks are bitten off of the edge of the disk, than most likely the disk will not completly regenerate.

aww no, then im guessing mine aint gonna heal up to a perfect circle shape again. anyone has any pics of a stingray that didnt heal back to a complete circle?

Maybe you should lay down a pic yourselfe Easyer to determen then.

Ive had some females loose huge chunks of disk and it usually grows back to almost 100% but real bad ones will prob take about 2 years to heal completely
