Stingray Feeding

Wanted to know how often people feed a motoro stingray? He is in a 125 gallon, with a black ghost knife fish. Sand substrate and two palnts (amazon sword) Also there is a Discuss and 4 rainbow fish. How often would you change the water. Ive kept fish for 2 years, but I am new to keeping a stingray.

First off you need a much bigger tank in thr future as motoros get massive, secondly waterchanges depend on the set up, stock, filtration, etc. And third, I recommend daily portions that are small, but that's just how i feed all my fish. I think you might get better answers from more experienced keepers if you posted this in the stingray section.

I just got mine make sure u find the motoro a bigger home when it gets bigger but for now I use tongs to feed or u can feed him threw a gravel vac

Rays have massive appetite, I’d be feeding twice a day on a small ray trying to get as much bulk on as possible. Be careful as the Ray grows they produce a massive amount of waste over a fish of comparable size over filtration is a must. I’d be doing two large water changes a week rays and discus both require pristine water.

Thanks for the responds, I change about 30 percent of water change once a week. I have notice a discoloration on the ends of his disc. Should I be concerned or is this normal because he is still settling in his new home.

I have fed my pups 2 a day since getting them sometimes 3 on weekends obviously feed less in that case
