Guys, problems here...
Yesterday i bought my first ray, a Reticulatus. Only a pup at disksize 3". I acclimatized it and put it in the tank and all seemed fine. The fish was doing good. Later that night he was still doing fine but then this morning... I looked in the tank and the fish wasnt there. strange. then i looked up and saw the ray floating with back up. that cant be good. i first thought he was dead. when i used a net to pick it up, it appeared to be alive. i immediately moved it to a Qtank (ready with water from that tank). now he is still floating back up, sometimes swimming but it doesnt look good. when he swims it appears the front of his disk is coming up, like he cant hold it down.
I did a waterchange in the Qtank ysterday, should i do one today? what can this be and is there any way to treath it? water in the main tank is good, test it regularly.
any suggestions are welcome, the faster the better...
thanks in advance!

After a good water change, some salt and an extra airstone, the ray is not floating anymore. he is in a corner on the bottom. you can see hes not feeling well but at least hes not floating anymore. i have good hopes. i will do another waterchange 2moro and keep the salt up. hopefully he will make it through the next couple of days.

good luck with the healing man hope your ray comes out okay, i wish i had the tankspace for one. Keep us posted.

F*CK! the fish just died... my first stingray adventure ends like this... thats not good :(
ive tested the water for oxygen levels and they seem maximal at my temp. i really have no idea how this could have happened. anybody ideas about this deathcurl?

r.i.p little ray :( :(

Wow H.!! Very sorry to hear this! I have no idea what cased this. Or maybe....was he in with your big pleco's? Did he had any skin damage?

heya bro, im very pissed :(
no, no wounds or mentionable skin damage. i know certain plecos sometimes suck/feed on slime layers. the ray did have one small spot where the slime seemed less dense but still nothing serious. cant believe that caused his dead, especially as he was curled up.

it doesnt sound like it was your plecs, but i had to remove plecs from being with soles for that reason. sorry bout your ray

sorry for your loss but next ray dont put it in with your plecos go for a motoro also they are a lil hardier

was it eating/fat? It could have been an internal parasite.
