hey guys just curious if any of you know a species of stingray for a 125 gallon tank just trying to get ideas for a future tank, everything ive found will be too large, also something that wont break the bank, thanks.

Scobina or mini marbles but I think minimum would be a 180g. Keeping multiple then bigger tanks needed. Just imo.

agreed, I would say minimum of 180 gallons or so in order to keep them HAPPY, but to just keep them alive I think a 125 would be ok. Is it ideal? no. Can they stay alive in there and be able to turn around? Yes

Not sure as you’d have to ask ray owners. I’m not myself as I live in Florida. I know it’s been discussed and minimum was 180g. You might be able to get away with one. Ask JK47 JK47 for his opinion.

A 125 isn’t a suitable ray tank IMO. Even the smaller diameter species are super active and like the space. More importantly is the amount of waste they produce is significant. More gallons = dilution and less water quality issues.

Can agree. Rays have a rather primitive digestive system afaik so they release a lot more waste than other fish. Don't quote me on this unless it is confirmed by someone.
