I do not know if I asked this before, I havent been able to find it...

I was wondering if there is a kind of stingray that can live its life in a 220 or atleast for 2-3 years before I get a bigger tank (I need to get a bigger place and I finally wanna get some work done to my car)...

also if there is a kind of ray I can get, would it be best to get a male or female or does it matter...

You could keep a trio of retics in that tank for life if you wanted. I have kept several of them before. They aren't the most colorfull rays, but are highly underated and act just like all the other rays.

You may also be able to get away with a few motoros if you wanted for a couple years.

As for the sex of the rays, the only difference will be size. Males are going to stay smaller than females for the most part.

umm NO!!! there is no ray for life..... retics will need 8'x30" min.... 18" disk with 36" tail.... do the math on a 24" wide tank...

also how fast or slow do stingrays grow?

True, but you also have to factor in if they have a full tail. Most of the imported retics you see, at least in my area never have full tails. Your lucky if you have about 4'' after the stinger.

Also when I bought some captive bred retics, the males aren't very big at all. The parents that is. In fact the females dwarfed the male. Also the parents were all long term captives and none were over 16'' in diameter from what I remember.

It's all just really a matter of opinion though, and thats my opinion.
