Hey there guys, I have a 1102 gallon fish pond (unused as of yet)... and I was planning to put a ray or two inside... could you guys recommend any rays that are hardy enough for a first time ray keeper?

THanks... but how do you transfer a ray from one pond to another I wonder.... without getting stung by its tail barb?

I thought a Retic would be good for a first time ray. WRONG! Go with a Motoro.

Agreed retics are really hard to keep. I started with a pair of retics and both are doing extremely well, but I would not recommend it at all. I spent an incredible amount of time working with them to get them to where they both are now. Go for the motoro!

motoro are super super hardy but I'd spend the extra 50 dollars and get marble motoro's there just as strong and waaaaaay nicer looking
