Thought this was interesting, and wanted to share it with all of you!

I have 120 gallon tank with 14" motoro female and 11" motoro male (yes.. will be working on a larger tank soon)

The other day, my boyfriend added water to the tank, which was quite low.. problem with our faucet is that there is no temp regulator on it (just bought a VERY old house and dont use this bathroom) so the water was pretty warm, I would of let it sit for a while. As soon as the water went in the tank, my male started going crazy! I have witnessed him biting and chasing her around the tank alot as if hes trying to mate... but this time was obsessive, its like the warm water was a stimulant. The "foreplay" continued for about 20-30 mins, (I got video of it but not with me now). When the male got really persistent, my female raised har tale and repeatedly stabbed him with it as if she wasn't interested. Anyone seen that before?? I was amazed that she didnt cause any damage to him.

Just wanted to share that.. I'm new to this site and am LOVING all the info on it.

their is no need to heat water up before adding it to the tank

the temp drop is a good thing

my rays used to breed right after a water change with a temp drop from 86 down to 78

its a good thing the male is showing intrest in the female the only bad thing is the male may rip her to bits if he doesnt get what he wants and you may need to seperate them at some point

I did'nt heat the water... there is no temp regulator like a regular faucet.. it only comes out hot!!!! Anywhere here a plumber??? lol

hopefully you will be raising some pups soon...
