stingray growout 55?

hey guys I was wondering in a could put a small retic or motoro in a 55, I have a 270 with a large endli bichir(around 18") who will attack anything he deems small enough. I was wondering that if with adequate filtration I could let the ray grow a little in the 55 before I put him in the 270. Any help is appreciated

With that small of a tank you will prob have problems keepimg perams in check....

What size ray are u talking?

I would aim for at least a 75 for footprint ....a 125 would be better. Motoros can get big quick and would need a better footprint then a 55 even when growing out

Pretty small around a 4 inch disk. once he grows to around 8 inches he will go into the 270.

You cant keep an 8 inch ray in a 55......you are better off with a 125 gallon if you plan on growing it out to 8 inches.....a 75 wouod work if water perams were maintaned but def not a 55

I had a 60 gallon as a pup tank but they were kept in there until a month or two old. I wouldn't worry about water params as it's not that hard to keep in check. As far as 8 inches it could survive but I wouldn't do it, that 8 inch will be more than the 12 inch exterior dimension of the tank with tail.
