stingray growth

My motoros were about 12" at one year. Growth with vary but is fairly quick for he first couple years.

My motoro has put on maybe 1 to 2 inches since I got him over a year ago. However my mantillas have put on significantly more in half the time in the same tank.

Hes healthy, eats and swims just like my others but does not pack on size.

In my experience extremely variable. Many can get to 12 inches jn first year, but I have had some that are much slower. I have a male now who is about a year and only 8 inches. Eats well and very active but just a slow grower. I had a female motoro that grew slowly too like this in a system with 4 other motoro who all grew at least twice as fast.

One other thing I have noticed is that it seems to go in spurts some times. One month will grow out and increase disc size then they may just get thicker for a bit then grow out more. We should really track this as a group and see what we find.

Hi, my buddy claims an inch a month 2 feedings a day and a little water change daily nothing crazy just 5 percent or less. his rays seem to grow and grow. also he feeds worms shrimp smelts and pellets with tongs. good luck..

a lot of things play a big part like how many rays you have the alpha will feed more and grow faster

tank size and water puraty

Been asking myself the same thing with my hybrid.

Kept for about half a year now, got her at 8" and she's only grown less than 2". She's been eating like a pig, plenty of floor space since she's the only one in a 5 x 2.5 footprint and kept in regularly changed water. Been hoping to have her at least 12" by now to pair her with my male.

Any thoughts?
