My motoro ray that I've had now for the past month, has been hanging out floating around at the top of the tank..sometimes just floating there almost lifeless...then all of a sudden snaps out of it and goes to the bottom of the tank...waters fine, is this ok, or normal?
thanks!

i'm not a ray owner and don't know much about them but i've seen pics posted on this site, from other ray owners and some of them have had rays swimming near or at the top of their tanks. i know that most rays are bottom crawlers, but maybe your ray is an oddball. if so, that makes for one interesting ray. that's a good thing.

ya this is fairly normal as rays tend to like to do weird stuff like that, if you had a bubble disk it would probely float in that and play..

Either harmless play or lack of aeration. Add an air pump just to air on the side of caution.

few!!!!!!!!!!!! thanks for the response guys!
def. theres a lot of air in the tank between the powerhead w/ air connection, and whisper 100 air pump with air stones on either side of the tank...maybe this is her personality starting to shine through =) and shes floaing horizontially (like she would on the ground)
thanks all, this makes me feel a lot better!

I once had a female motoro who would do this whenever the lights were out.
