hi guys,i am a new member,i just recently bought a stingray, bout 6 months old,ave had it for about 2 days now and it doesnt seem to be feedin,is this normal when they first arrive or not?

What size tank is it in? What are your ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph readings? Any other fish in the tank? What size and type of ray is it? We need to know a lot more before we can help you.

am not too sure about the nitrate readings, its in a 4ft tank its self, just with sand,no other fish or that,i thinks its a laticeps stingray, this is my first attempt to keep a stingray,so trying to make sure am doin everything ok,hope this helps

.

So you don't know any of your reading, what size tank it is, or what kind of ray you have either? Sounds like you're set up for success my man.

Was the tanked cycled or is it newly setup? You need to know your water chemistry ASAP, rays are sensitive.

Have to agree with Austin… a 4ft tank could be anything from 30 gallons to 150 gallon plus. If you do not know any of your parameters, it is impossible to tell you if something is wrong, or for you to know what is wrong.

If you do not know the type of ray, it is hard to say what kind of food it will accept quickly…

What kind of food did you try?

Without a little bit of information it is hard to help you, and in the end you will just get poor responses. The smallest amount of effort and you should be rewarded with some information.
